Penny's 6th Birthday

Penny turned six in March! She was given the chance to choose where to have her birthday party, and finally, she settled on... HOME! Funny girl. She wanted a Hello Kitty birthday. Which is odd to me because she isn't that big of a HK fan in general. We invited several of her friends over on a Saturday afternoon for pizza, games, and ice cream sundaes. It was a madhouse! But she had a really good time.

Coloring Hello Kitty pictures as everyone arrived (boys got a more masculine Hello Kitty coloring sheet).

Penny had a great birthday. For her family meal, she chose to go to Cracker Barrel. I think it was more due to the fact that they have toys for sale there than the food. Though she does l-o-v-e macaroni and cheese! She had some birthday money from her grandparents and bought a stuffed frog and some rubber snakes at Cracker Barrel. She is such a fun, surprising, unconventional girl.

Lucy's 10th Birthday

Five days after Truman's birthday, Lucy turned ten years old. Yikes! Double digits.

She decided she wanted to have a spa-themed birthday party here at our house. She invited a few girlfriends over on a Friday night. They started off by doing their nails.

(Oh, and she let little sister stay too; brother had to go next door and play for the night.)
The girls also made little bracelets. We bought butterfly and alphabet beads and each girl got to make a bracelet with her name on it. After they finished that, we got out some pizzas and other snacks and they ate a bunch of food. Then we sang happy birthday and cut into the gorgeous cake.
